Orange Ginger Splash Pressed Juice
Golden beets, carrots, Cara Cara orange, apple, and fresh ginger are pressed into a beautifully vibrant, slightly sweet juice with a subtle kick of spicy ginger!
We’re doing the whole ‘pressed juice’ thing today! I don’t even recognize myself.
Except…I really, really love this orange ginger splash pressed juice! It is incredibly refreshing and happens to be the prettiest hue of natural orange that I’ve ever laid eyes on.
Golden beets, carrots, Cara Cara orange, apple, and fresh ginger are pressed into a beautifully vibrant, slightly sweet juice with a subtle kick of spicy ginger. I never thought I would be someone who processed vegetables into juice and raved about it – but that’s exactly what I’m doing today. I hope you’re into it.
Truth be told, I didn’t consider myself a juice person until last year. I love a good breakfast smoothie every now and then, but I’ve never been interested in juice cleanses and you will rarely find me buying a store-bought pressed juice. I never got on that bandwagon. My wallet thanks me for that.
But ever since we got our hands on an extractor attachment for our food processor last year, I’ve gotten really into them.
I don’t make pressed juices every day, nor every week, but whenever I do, I’m reminded of the fact that I should make them more often. This juice almost made me forget that it was negative fifteen degrees with wind chill on Monday morning.
Almost.
It goes without being said that a recipe for any juice is fairly straight-forward and adaptable. If you can’t find golden beets, feel free to substitute with red beets – just expect a much darker red color (red ginger splash? it still works). The biggest benefit to using golden beets is that they don’t stain. Secondly, Navel oranges can easily swap in for Cara Caras too.
Is it a placebo effect that I actually feel more energized after drinking this? I’m going to roll with it. You should too.
Orange Ginger Splash Pressed Juice
Ingredients
- 3 large carrots scrubbed and chopped
- 2 medium golden beets scrubbed and chopped
- 1 Cara Cara orange peeled and chopped
- 1 Pink Lady apple chopped
- 2-inch chunk of fresh ginger peeled
Instructions
- Process the carrots, golden beets, orange, apple, and ginger through your juicer.
- Best served immediately. If storing, place in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days (shake the juice well before serving).
Tips for Success:
- This juice is a great ‘starter juice’ for anyone looking to ease their way into vegetable-based pressed juices. It is balanced and slightly sweet with a subtle kick of fresh ginger. If you wish to make it less sweet, just skip the apple (or use half)!

Does this help u lose weight?
It’s not intended for that purpose, no! Just a great, nutrition-packed juice.
HI Laura can I use red beet roots in this ? Is it different
You can absolutely use red beets! The color will absolutely be darker in color (and I would be careful to wash your juicer right away to prevent any staining) – but it shouldn’t affect the flavor drastically at all. Hope that helps!

I wait for summer 2016. I’ll drink this cocktail on the beach 🙂
I’ve always loved the idea of juicing. I actually have a juicing cookbook somewhere in my library of cookbooks, but I I ever wanted to buy another appliance to take up space for juicing. Having one as a part of a food processor though….that I can get behind! I need to upgrade my $25 food processor anyway! This juice looks like the perfect first recipe to try too!
That exactly the question I was going to ask! Could I do this in my Vita-mix? Sounds like I can – but how much would it change the texture? Maybe a lil but thicker like a smoothie?
Hmm. I think with canned red beets maybe (or perhaps substitute those with something else entirely?). There is no liquid either, so I think it wouldn’t blend properly in a blender without additional juice or some added liquid. The texture would definitely be significantly thicker too because you would have all the fiber/pulp (which is left behind in a juicer). I’ve added carrots to smoothies before with no issue – but those had yogurt or dairy added to help smooth things out. Hope this helps!
This is my favorite color ever and that is how I make my choices ! If I had a juicer I’d jump out of bed like a Ninja and make this.
This list of ingredients is really intriguing as is the recipe. I’ve always found beets to be so hard, how do you get them to blend in the blender so they aren’t shredded or left in pieces?
Hi Jennifer! This is actually made with a juice extractor attachment (similar to the idea of a juicer appliance) – so I wouldn’t recommend trying to make this specific recipe in a blender! Juicers works differently. You could substitute the golden beets with canned, cooked red beets and it may work, but most likely only in a very powerful blender like a Vitamix! Hope that clears things up!
Laura – I am LOVING your new website! Your photos are amazing! I’m so lucky I benefited from your talent before you ventured off to Chicago! I can’t wait to get the attachment and make this juice…yum!

We’re gearing up for a “snowpocolypse” in DC this weekend – I believe I have time for one last run to the market to grab the ingredients for this amazing looking juice!
Looks great. I wish I had that for breakfast this morning. Arthur does as well:)
Yum! The color is to die for and I bet it’s really good for you and tastes great.
Oh wow, there’s a juicer attachment for a food processor? Holy smokes, looks like I need to upgrade my current food processor! 😉
YES! I was so excited when I learned that too and was able to register for one for our wedding. It works extremely well (plus one less appliance). I think KitchenAid also has one for stand mixers, but I’m not sure if it’s as well rated?
Dang, girl! This juice is so so pretty and sounds absolutely delicious. Also I’m super loving the “products used for this recipe” feature!!
Thanks Lucia! And so glad you like that new feature! I figure it can be helpful to show people what I’ve used for some recipes 🙂
I think I need to get the KitchenAid attachment solely for the purposes of making this juice. That color is stunning!
Oh I have been doing strawberry and ginger, but I am loving this citrus combo too!! It looks wonderful!
We just bought some of the Cara Cara oranges this week. They have a distinctive flavor that I really like.
I am really into pressed juices and ginger right now! This sounds perfect!
