Off to Scotland
A lot is happening in the next 24 hours…
Tomorrow is my last official day working at the bakery. Since starting in November, I started from baking only 10 dozen cupcakes a day to last week, making more than 65 dozen. I’ve learned a lot in the process, worked extremely hard, and have more than a couple scars to prove it. Remember that day I got my finger stuck in a pastry tip? I’ve personally tried to block that one.
It’s a little bittersweet, but I’m looking forward to a change. What that is, is still being determined. I’ll definitely be sharing more in the next few weeks as I figure it out myself. For now, I’m just going to try to focus on taking some time off to relax in…
SCOTLAND (& ENGLAND)
Yep, I’m hopping over the pond for a two-week stay. I’ll be visiting my parents in Glasgow (for anyone new to the blog, they moved there a few months ago!) for a week, followed by 12-hour train ride down to Cornwall, England, where I’ll be visiting and staying with my grandmother (whose house overlooks this view below!)
Beautiful huh?
Don’t get too excited though—that water is freezing! You’re more likely to find me drinking cappuccinos and munching on pasties (or jelly donuts!) at the local tea shops down in the village.
Not sure if I’ll have a chance to check in during the next two weeks, but I’ll be back soon enough with more details, fun recipes, and of course, tons of photographs from my trip!
Here’s hoping the 12+ hour journey tomorrow goes quickly!
(Edited to Add: My flight did not go quickly!! — In fact, it was cancelled. Hopefully my identical flight plan for TOMORROW works out!)

Thanks so much Tricia! I’m back and definitely have TONS of pictures that I can’t wait to share. My ancestors are from Scotland too 🙂 I haven’t been to Ireland, but I really want to go someday soon!
Super artistic, tasty pics REQUIRED. Can’t wait to hear about it. I’ll send CK some microwave recipes to use until you’re back.
Have a wonderful time! So wish I was going. We love Ireland but haven’t been to Scotland yet. My ancestors are from Scotland so I would love to visit. Pictures – we need tons of pictures! Travel safe and have a blast!
Thanks Jess! I have computer access every now and again, but probably won’t be fully back for another week and a bit 🙂
Have a fun and safe trip! Lookin forward to hearing your stories and seeing your pictures!
