DC in a Day
Just wanted to pop in, say hi, and let you all know that I’ll be back later this weekend with more of the regular stuff and hopefully a lot of new, fun pictures! My college roommate is flying in this weekend (actually I just picked her up last night at 12:30 am!) to check out some law schools in the area and it’s her first time in DC.
So I’ll be playing hostess for the next three days, showing her all the great sights around the city, and hopefully convincing her this is a great city to live in. I’ll also be going to my favorite pizza place in the entire city on Saturday, s0 I might snap a picture of the goods for you all to see.
I definitely have a lot of ideas, but would really appreciate your feedback on the following question: If you only had one day to explore DC for the first time, what would be your must-sees?

Yep, did many of those! DC is so hot in the summer, so I’m glad you were still able to enjoy touring around. I definitely need to go back to the archives one of these days.
I couldn’t go to that, but really wanted to! We went to a lot of a big town monuments, but didn’t make it to China Town. I’ll be writing a recap post soon!

I was just in DC the other week for the Rally to Restore Sanity and/of Fear tour! I’ve been there quite a few times, and for showing someone around that may want to live there, I’d definitely hit up the big time monuments, China Town, and the parks..mainly the National Mall since there’s so much around there as well. Hope you have fun!
I pretty much DID have one day to see DC when I was there this summer on conferences! We hit up the Smithsonian, the capitol, and the Lincoln memorial…but I wish I’d been able to see the archives more than anything!
